Sun Circle Farm is a small family farm run by Anne-Corinne Kell, her husband Steve and their daughters Trillium and Leila. Last year was our first year of operating our own farm after three years running a local University-affiliated CSA down the road. It was a year of infrastructure building (fences, fences and more fences) and learning about our new home. The crops grew beautifully and the pigs got fat and happy on grass and sunshine! We are excited to keep growing in the next few years, and are planning on doubling our CSA for 2012.
At Sun Circle Farm we offer a large variety of high-quality fresh produce and GMO-free pastured pork as we pursue our goal of integrated "deep organic" farm management. It is our belief that when we view the farm as a whole and focus on putting in place complimentary systems including happy healthy animals and biologically diverse plant rotations we move towards farm-generated fertility and true sustainability.
We never use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. While we generally follow USDA organic methods at a minimum, we strive to go further by minimizing imported or overly processed amendments and fertilizers, relying instead on compost, rock minerals and locally sourced fish bone meal for the majority of our fertility needs. I love farming and take great pride in continuing to learn and to improve our products in order to bring you the best-tasting and healthiest fresh produce and meat possible.
Directions:
Take the Glenn Hwy NE out of Palmer heading towards Glennallen. Approximately 3 miles out of town, take a Left onto Farm Loop Road. Go about 1 mile until the first 90 degree left hand turn. We are the first driveway on your left.
